Learning Support Assistant - "The Lighthouse" SEN Unit, Deptford Primary School (Outstanding Ofsted)

An Outstanding primary school in Deptford, South East London, is looking for a skilled and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join The Lighthouse, their highly respected SEN provision for pupils with Autism and communication needs.

The Learning Support Assistant will be supporting primary-aged pupils within small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis, ensuring that every child receives the emotional, academic, and behavioural support they need to thrive. This Learning Support Assistant role requires patience, adaptability, and a strong understanding of Autism (ASD).

You'll be joining a supportive team that values collaboration, with excellent training and mentoring available for the right Learning Support Assistant. The SENCo and leadership team are experienced and passionate about inclusion and professional development.

Key details for the Learning Support Assistant role:

Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm
Pay: 85-100 per day depending on experience
Based in Deptford, within walking distance of local transport links

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

Previous experience supporting SEN pupils, particularly with Autism
A positive, patient, and resilient approach
Confidence in supporting communication and sensory regulation strategies
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
